We are a leading manufacturer specialising in precision injection moulded components, supplying high-quality products to customers across the UK and internationally. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Quality Engineer to join our team and help drive product excellence and continuous improvement throughout our operations.
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Working closely with production, tooling, and engineering teams, you’ll support quality assurance processes, investigate non-conformances, and help develop robust systems to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Job summary
The Quality Engineer ensures that all injection moulding products meet customer and regulatory requirements by developing and maintaining quality systems, conducting audits, analysing process and product data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across production lines. A hands-on, shop-floor-focused role that demands flexibility, strong time management, and prioritisation skills to ensure timely and effective support across operations. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Reports to the Technical Manager.
Key tasks / Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 / 14001).
- Conduct process audits, capability studies, and root cause analysis for production issues.
- Develop and update control plans, FMEAs, and inspection procedures.
- Lead corrective and preventive action activities using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa.
- Support new product introductions (NPI), PPAP submissions, and validation activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and process performance.
About You
- Manufacturing or Quality Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years’ experience in a quality engineering role within injection moulding or plastics manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of quality tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, CAPA.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Six Sigma or Lean qualification.
- Experience with CMM, vision systems, or automated inspection.
- Exposure to aerospace quality systems.
